8 Cute Things Fido Wants to Accomplish This Year

Happy New Year! As we move into 2021, many people are setting personal goals for themselves. Your canine buddy also has a few achievements he’s striving for … and they’re completely adorable! An Aurora, CO vet lists some of the cuter things on your pup’s to-do list below.

Get Belly Rubs

Dogs are very cuddly and lovable. It’s always heartwarming to see how much Fido enjoys getting petted and cuddles. Help your pup make this goal by paying lots of attention to him!

Score More Bacon

Our canine pals have very healthy appetites, and they really, really, really love treats. Snacks will definitely help keep that cute tail wagging! Just don’t go overboard.

Work On My Sad Face

This one is very closely related to the last one. In order to score more snacks, Fido may need to hone his begging skills. We suspect your pup will, sooner or later, melt your heart enough to give in. However, begging is bad petiquette. Don’t spoil the pooch!

Explore

One thing that is great about dogs is the fact that they love to accompany their humans everywhere. Take your furry best friend somewhere new this year, and just let him have fun being a dog!

Make Friends

Do you take your furry friend to the dog park regularly? If not, you may want to add this to your resolutions. Fido really does benefit from being able to run and play with his buddies. Just choose your pet’s playmates carefully.

Play With A New Toy

Toys are important for dogs, both mentally and physically. Fido will get bored with the same old things, though. Keep things fun and fresh for him by getting him new toys regularly. (Tip: consider signing him up for a doggy subscription box.)

Learn A New Trick

Dogs actually really enjoy learning new things. If Fido hasn’t mastered basic commands, such as Sit, Stay, Come, Heel, and Lay Down, yet, work on these first. Otherwise, take time to show him some new tricks.

Nap

While dogs may not be quite as tired as cats are, they do spend a pretty big chunk of time snoozing. Make sure Fido has a comfy bed, where he can curl up and perhaps dream about chasing squirrels.
