Thanksgiving isn’t very far off now. While delicious food and spending time with loved ones is definitely at the top of the list for many, it’s important to remember the true meaning of the holiday: gratitude. We’re definitely grateful for our feline friends. It’s also probably safe to say that Fluffy is at least a little bit thankful to us as well. Here, an Aurora, CO vet lists some things your furball is grateful for.
Beds
Kitties are very, very sleepy. Fluffy can spend up to 20 hours a day snoozing. (We’re not entirely convinced that they actually need that much rest, but that’s another topic.) Kittens and senior cats are the sleepiest, but all of our furry pals are apparently quite tired. Unsurprisingly, beds and comfy napping spots are likely among the things your pet appreciates most.
Clean Litterboxes
You can’t really blame Fluffy for preferring that her powder room be kept clean. Nobody likes a dirty bathroom!
Lap Space
Our feline pals make great cuddle buddies. Fluffy just happens to be the perfect size to fit into your lap. Relaxing with a purring cat and a great movie or football game is a great way to get through that post-dinner food coma.
Catnip
Nobody is quite sure why some kitties react so curiously to catnip: we just know it’s cute to watch. If your furry pal enjoys the ‘nip, get her some as a holiday treat. If Fluffy isn’t particularly impressed by catnip, get her some cat grass, or perhaps just a new toy.
Windows
We always recommend keeping Fluffy indoors, where she’s safe from cars, weather, wild animals, and other hazards. However, kitties do get bored just staring at the walls all day. A good window view is a great source of entertainment for your feline pal.
Sunbeams
Our feline overlords aren’t actually cold blooded, but we’re not sure that anyone has told them that yet. Fluffy certainly does like sunbathing!
Cardboard Boxes
We may joke about how fussy cats are, but they’re actually pretty easy to please. A cardboard box or plain paper bag can definitely make Fluffy’s day!
You!
Fluffy is very grateful for the love, care, toys, treats, food, water, and lap space you offer her. That look of adoration in your pet’s eyes says it all!
Happy Thanksgiving! As your Aurora, CO animal clinic, we’re here to help.
